Wendall DeVera brings over 50 years of paddling experience and entrepreneurial spirit to Tri Paddle Maui. As the founder of Maui Marking Device, a Laser Engraved Awards and rubber stamp manufacturer, Wendall has honed his craft for over 45 years. His journey into outrigger paddling began 22 years ago when, while showcasing custom-engraved award paddles, he met three young boys in need of paddles for an event. Although Wendall initially explained he only created award paddles, this encounter sparked the idea to start a paddling store. After discussing it with his wife Marcella, the decision was made to start the business. In 2000, Tri Paddle Maui was born, housed in the same building as his engraving business.

Today, Wendall is passionate about both his engraving business and Tri Paddle Maui. Together with Marcella, they provide expert knowledge and a welcoming environment for paddlers of all levels. Wendall’s enthusiasm for outrigger paddling is reflected in every aspect of the business, focused on nurturing the paddling community and empowering others to pursue their passion for Maui’s waters.
